Public Safety

Knowing where and when is critical

Our (GIS) Geographic Information System team has the precise tools to model and analyze complex spatial systems. In addition to possessing the right set of tools and applications, we offer all-inclusive consulting and implementation services to assist law enforcement agencies in data acquisition, data conversion, application development, systems management, and ongoing data base development and management.

GIS Databases allow Law Enforcement to:

  • Define and submit a series of parameters on a form and receive a map of incidents in return
  • Report on summaries of activity for a user-specified period
  • Report on lists of incidents occurring at a single address
  • Chart and analyze day-of-week and time-of-day relationships for crimes

DBSysgraph specializes in producing detailed, interactive maps to be used for the investigation of homicides, aggravated assaults, rapes, robberies, and property, vehicle-related, and narcotic crimes. The Crime Analysis and Mapping Unit have the capability of producing customized maps for special requests, such as gunshot incident density.

Key Benefits and Features:

  • Maps identify high crime patterns and police patrol zones can be modified and realigned
  • Stolen vehicle tracking applications enable officers to visualize the relationship between the location of recovered vehicles and the area in which they were stolen
  • Building footprints can be overlaid with crime densities to enable effective planning
  • Decentralized mapping functions allow each district to generate customized maps
  • Internet-based applications permit an immediate turn-around for late -breaking information

Application Distribution

DBS offers a full complement of consulting services on applications such as ArcView IMS Server, MapObjects Internet Map Server, GeoMedia Web Map, and GeoMedia Web Enterprise to enable the quick delivery of dynamic maps and data on a variety of servers. From a single server, a law enforcement agency will be able to serve multiple applications to any number of clients. This method also centralizes the administration of both data and applications and easily accommodates system expansion as clients’ increases.
